Structural Engineer

Our client has an excellent reputation for delivering a complete range of architectural and structural engineering projects and due to an increased workload an opportunity has been created in their busy office near Bradford for a talented and motivated Structural Engineer with at least 3 years' post graduate experience.

You will join their small design team where your progress will be overseen more senior engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience of working on small to medium retail, commercial and residential projects using all common building materials.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Associate Director in the design of a variety of structures.
• Contribute to the team of engineers in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software and AutoCAD.
• Liaise and communicate clearly in a professional manner to colleagues, clients, contractors, and the wider design team.
• Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages.
• Mentor the younger staff members as appropriate

Requirements:

• A degree in civil or structural engineering,
• In the process, or working towards, Chartership in relevant Institutions, i.e., IStructE/ICE.
• Varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types, i.e., steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Experience of projects ranging from individual residential to large scale commercial developments.
• Experienced in the use of Eurocodes.
• Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills required.
• Experience of structural analysis design and software is essential.
• A minimum of 3 years relevant post graduate experience.

An appetite to learn and to develop both personally and professionally is essential for this role and this will be demonstrated with a desire to become a Chartered engineer.
