Job Description: We require a compliance and enforcement officer to assist us in the performance of our statutory duty to secure compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975. The successful candidate will be expected to manage an enforcement case load and help deliver changes in the sector under the guidance of the teams Senior Advisers and Team Leader. 

You will be expected to take appropriate actions to collect evidence for enforcement purposes, in accordance with defined procedures and here non-compliance is identified, recommend the most appropriate intervention option to ensure operators return to compliance as quickly as possible. 

You will also help to manage the process for reminders for the appointment of Supervising Engineers or Construction Engineers; respond to appointments made, review engineers’ reports to identify compliance issues, respond to non-compliance and & statutory directions.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following: 

1. Degree or equivalent experience.
2. Experience of carrying out regulatory or enforcement activities (desirable)
3. Working knowledge of the Reservoirs Act 1975 (desirable)
4. Working knowledge of Flood Risk Management fundamentals (desirable)
5. Working towards membership of ICE or CIWEM (desirable)
6. Mentoring, relationship building and influencing skills.
