Design manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join one of the world's most prestigious and major names in multi-disciplinary engineering services.

The Design and Advanced Technology team based in our client's Bristol office are looking to appoint Civil engineer who is at degree level or equivalent who has experience within civil engineering and design environment. To support and mange design professionals and technical growth of civil engineering across a range of major projects in civil and infrastructure engineering.

Projects: Water, Education, Commercial, Residential, Defence, Energy and Transportation.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver and lead multiple Civil and/or structural engineering projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme.
• Working towards delivering Net zero within all work.
• Ensure the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering design.
• Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.
• Contribute in implementing the companies BIM strategy including integrated design tools and data management systems.
• Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team.
• Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities
• Responsibly mange own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project.
• Be responsible and responsive considering health and safety management design including applying CDM 2015.
• Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training.

Requirements:

• A degree in Civil engineering or equivalent
• Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships.
• Ability to manage and work to budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes.
• A technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability.

• Acting as a Discipline Lead
• Design and/or Project Management,
• Work collaboratively, act in the best interests of the team
• This should include experience in the design of common structural materials as well as a good understanding of current design standards and working practices.
• Upto date knowledge of current design codes and design software relating to civil engineering.
