Senior/Environmental Advisor- Temporary to Permenant role
Temporary- up to £350 p/day
Permenant- up to £42000 p/annum
Your new company
The client is a national construction company, currently working on HS2. The purpose of the role is to support the Environment and Sustainability Manager in ensuring that all environmental requirements are embedded throughout the design and delivery of the works in line with Environmental Policy and contract requirements.
Your new role
- Provide advice and solutions to the design and construction teams on reducing environmental impacts, meeting all environmental requirements
- Participate in design reviews and ensure that environmental issues are considered, and decisions are evidenced
- Produce environmental plans and documents; review documents produced by other to provide assurance against environmental requirements.
- Ensure that required environmental consents are gained and liaise with stakeholders as required,
- Undertake environmental site inspections to ensure environmental compliance; ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented
- Report environmental incidents and carrying out investigations as required
- Support the Environment and Sustainability Manager in maintaining the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System including participation in audits
- Monitor environmental KPIs and report environmental data as required
- Identify and promote environmental opportunities and best practice, produce case studies
- Develop and deliver environmental guidance and training
- Support the implementation and reporting on wider sustainability issues as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- demonstrable experience working as an Environmental Advisor or similar role on construction related projects.
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritise a diverse workload
- Excellent team player, adaptable to work across various environmental disciplines
- Willingness to travel to establish relationships and undertake site inspections
- Previous experience of developing documents and working with HS2 requirements is desirable.
