PRINCIPAL Bridge ENGINEER



£50,000 - £65,000 per annum + plus benefits (Permanent)

MANCHESTER

We have an opportunity for a Civil/Bridges Engineer to join one of the world's most prestigious and major names in multi-disciplinary engineering services.

The bridges and structures team have an extremely varied project portfolio from asset management of existing structures to new builds. The team is involved in local and national work from public and private sector clients including design & build partnerships with contractors. You will support with feasibility studies to scheme designs, detailed designs, assessments, inspections, construction support and management services on a wide range of bridges and associated railway infrastructure schemes. This may include Undertake rail and road bridges and associated structural engineering schemes from inspection and assessment, feasibility through to detailed design. Be a Team Leader supervising Graduate Engineers and Technicians as appropriate. Assist with preparation of technical documentation through to client sign off Technical Approval documentation. Hands on technical assessment and design on road and/or rail structures. You will play a key part in overseeing our more junior team members, ensuring their safety on site, assisting with their professional development, and helping maximise their potential to be industry leading engineers of the future.

Minimum Requirements:

You will already have experience working on bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes, likely within the transportation industry. You will be confident working across a range of structures including concrete, steel, and masonry, delivering quality schemes on time and on budget.

You will possess a high level of technical skills in current inspection, assessment and design and be able comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and able to assist teams of graduate and technicians around you. You'll be well versed with British Standards, Eurocodes and assessment codes and have an excellent understanding of project Health & Safety responsibilities including compliance with CDM legislation. Successful previous exposure to clients at national or local level.

Preferred Qualifications:

You will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline and demonstrate a clear ambition and plan to progress to Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Institution.
