A Head of AP Interim job based in Birmingham

Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with our large corporate client based outside of Birmingham City Centre in recruiting a Head of Accounts Payable to join them on an initial 4 month interim assignment. Our client are a large and complex organisation and a global leader in their sector.

Your new role
This is a classic AP role where the core aim and objective of your assignment will be to ensure all vendors are paid according to terms, and that the team structure meets the demands of the business and their customers. Main duties involved in your role will include:

• Ensure clear SLA's are developed and shared with all stakeholders.
• Work closely across the organisation to ensure that the business has full visibility of areas of concern and business non-compliance, through regular KPI reporting and to work with the business to formulate strategy and approach to resolve process issues.
• Understand the complex nature of the AP process, in order to help the customer and ops team with short and long term solutions.
• Ensure that the team work to their defined processes and SLA's.
• Attend business performance reviews with senior stakeholders.
• Ensure performance targets are met with regards to customer engagement and satisfaction, payments on time etc.
• Line managing a team of AP staff.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will come from an AP background and have strong people management experience within large corporate organisations, ensuring you have the knowledge and knowhow of operating in a complex environment. You will have strong influencing skills and be able to offer an adaptable and flexible approach to working in the team. Ideally you will be qualified in a relevant Finance qualification.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive the pro-rata equivalent salary of up to £70,000 per annum in this fixed-term 4 month contract, and split your time between the office outside of Birmingham City Centre and working from home (3 days per week in office).
