My client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with national coverage. They offer expertise in civil, structural, geo-environmental, geotechnical and acoustic engineering with growth on the horizon in other areas of environmental consultancy.

As a part of the next stage in their growth, they are looking to add an enthusiastic and motivated senior geo-environmental consultant to their current team.

Your new role

This position is based out of the Nottingham office functioning under a hybrid model with site visits nationwide.

My client works in the following sectors (but not limited to): residential, retail, education, leisure, healthcare.

Main responsibilities:

  • the production of geo-environmental desk studies, analysis and interpretative reporting
  • the design, management and supervision of ground investigations including accurate collection of site data, with assessment and evaluation
  • ground gas and groundwater monitoring
  • the production of health and safety plans for the above
  • the production of factual reports
  • the production of geo-environmental interpretative reports


What you'll need to succeed

My client is looking for a candidate who is keen to progress their career and takes a positive approach to their own development.

You'll also need:

  • A relevant degree and proven experience of working in a consultancy on geo-environmental projects
  • Experience in undertaking geo-environmental assessments and reporting and confidence to lead them
  • An understanding of geotechnical assessments and reporting
  • Commercial awareness
  • Willing to supervise team members
  • Strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively and intuitively either alone or in a small team.
  • Sound communication and personal effectiveness skills.
  • A developing ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
  • A full UK Driving Licence (manual).
  • Membership of professional organisation (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, IES)
