An independent ecology and arboriculture consultancy with national coverage, they have. Most of their work is conducted in the Midlands and the South East.

They are reliable providers of a range of ecological services to many different types of domestic and commercial client for over 10 years.

They are experts in all forms of survey including Measured Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Tree Surveys, Tree Reports, and Protected Species Surveys.

Your new role

My client is keen to appoint an ecology lead to the business. They are looking for an experienced ecologist that is capable of working independently and driving forward a team. The company currently subcontracts the majority of their ecological work and as such, are looking to bring this in house.

You will have a robust understanding of the ecology sector, all ecological surveys and reports (excluding trees), at least level 1 licenses for GCNs and bats, a keen interest and/or knowledge around Biodiversity Net Gain and the like, and the ability to manage and liaise with clients effectively.

Once you have cemented your position in the business, you will start building a team of ecologists around you to support and grow the business (with the help of me of course!)

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Ecology or similar
• A proven track record in ecological consultancy
• GCN and Bat License Level 1 (minimum)
• Full UK Driving License
• Can do, flexible and professional attitude
• Strong survey skills
• Strong client management skills
• Business acumen & commercial awareness
