A local authority based in the East Midlands.

Your new role
The local authority is looking for an Energy specialist to support the Solar Energy Team in effectively delivering the Council's energy generation projects. You will be leading on solar PV consultancy services for other local authorities and commercial organisations both locally and at a national level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain energy generation projects.
  • Carrying out detailed technical solar PV surveys in buildings.
  • Identifying appropriate energy saving measures with stakeholders that comply with the conditions in the Council's energy efficiency funds.
  • Lead on energy efficiency projects from inception to completion and ensuring conditions of funds are met.
  • Lead on design and specification of improvements to building energy services.
  • Provide performance reporting on the Council's energy efficiency funds and ways to maximise use of funds.
  • Gathering, analysing and evaluating of data and preparing a range of energy use and performance reports for building users.
  • Assisting in the provision of solar PV training to building users.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working in an energy management function and engaging with other service areas such as finance, property, maintenance and transport.
  • Experience of developing and managing renewable energy generation projects.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify anomalous data and discover the reasons driving change.
  • A good understanding of the legislation surrounding the energy sector.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels in all mediums.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in energy, carbon management, negotiation and provision of advice on all types of property.
  • Ability to analyse complex data, identify solutions, draw conclusions and communicate the decisions taken.
