Hays Social Care are looking for a Support Worker to join a Children's service organisation in Derry.

Hays Social Care are working with a children service in Derry. This service supports children with additional needs to help them thrive in a warm, supportive, and structured environment.
Your new role
As a children's support worker you will be helping children access activities throughout their day. In line with the client's statement each child has the right to a 'safe and happy childhood' this standard is promoted when supporting children in your care. Some children have additional needs and so that will require you to lead with empathy and understanding, tailoring your approach to adapt to their needs. You will follow the structure of the day facilitating activities and being flexible to a changing environment. You will work as a team, ensuring transparency in communication within the team and with external agenices to assess progress and communicate any difficulties from their day. Co-ordinate and direct the support to children, young people, and families by agreeing and providing interventions, which may be specialised, enabling positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. You will demonstrate the ability to regularly reflect on your practice to deliver an outcome based approach by planning, delivering and reviewing your work. What you'll need to succeed
To exceed in this position you will desirably have a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent. You will have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written and be able to provide detailed reports and care plans. You will have experience working as a part of a team to deliver quality support. Ability to use IT systems and complete records to a high-quality standard.
