Your new role

The NHS Trust is looking for an experienced Energy Manager to ensure that the Trust complies with all applicable energy legislation and guidelines. They will be supporting the Head of Sustainability in achieving their corporate objectives in building energy management and carbon reduction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Energy and utility management including meter readings and regulatory compliance.
  • Management of on-site energy generation contracts, supply chains, invoices and contractor management
  • Reduction of the Trust's energy demand and associated carbon footprint.
  • Lead on the building energy efficiency programme Report on energy use, carbon impact and cost Health & safety management for water and energy.
  • Develop initiatives and innovations for reduction on energy consumption and demand
  • Advise on energy, estates and sustainability committees within the trust.
  • Support on training and education of staff on energy management.
  • Manage relevant statutory requirements for the Trusts such as compliance with environmental permits and licenses.


What you'll need to succeed

  • The post holder will be Degree qualified in a related discipline or in the field of energy and environmental management and/or demonstrate an exceptional level of relevant experience.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge in the following areas:
    • Energy supply, utilisation, and associated legislation
    • Energy targeting, monitoring, and control
    • Energy efficient technologies and their application
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the department.
  • At least three years of experience working in a large organisation, dealing with a variety of complex energy issues.
  • Corporate membership of an appropriate recognised professional institute: QSIR, IOSHH, risk management.
  • It would be desirable to possess specialist knowledge in the following areas: building management & energy monitoring systems, water supply & distribution, decontamination & waste management systems

Flexible working options available.

  • Salary range: £41,659 to £47,672 per annum (Band 7)
  • 8.30am - 4.30 Monday to Friday
  • 27 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
  • NHS Pension scheme
