Our client has an immediate requirement for an AutoCAD technician with a structural bias gained within the building, industrial or infrastructure sectors. The position will provide a change of emphasis and a broad workload, alongside their burgeoning renewables work you be involved in data centres, commercial, educational, industrial and electrical infrastructure projects. However, it is renewable energy that drives much of their growth as the UK transitions to low carbon economy over the next decade.
The company: This partnership is one of the longest established firms in their sector, their expertise encompasses building, construction, conservation, property, expert witness, land development, surveying and engineering. They employ over two hundred personnel throughout the UK.
Your Role: You will report to the CAD manager and work closely with their civil and structural engineers. Your focus will be on the production of structural general arrangement, layout and detail drawings using AutoCAD. You will also supervise the work being produced by junior CAD technicians and provide guidance. The workload will cover a range of civil and structural topics associated with building and civil works for sub stations, solar farms, renewable energy distribution and mainstream building structures.
About You: Qualified to HNC/ HND level or above, conversant with AutoCAD with a background in building. civil or industrial structures with some experience of associated civil engineering. Able to produce RC and steel general arrangement drawings and collaborate with engineering colleagues to deliver accurate and timely work.
