You will be joining an independent, innovative and national company specialising in multi-utility (electricity, gas and water) infrastructure installations. This company has a strong pipeline of work across a multitude of different sectors including local government, leisure, education, retail and commercial, bringing developments to life. Working for developers, main contractors and local authorities, they take a tailored approach to every project to ensure specific requirements are met as well as their clients' needs. With this organisation you will be working on multiple exciting utility infrastructure projects.
Your new role
You will be reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and be responsible for, but not limited to, actively monitoring contractors and liaising with projects managers across all major projects, attending prestart meetings and internal meetings as required, managing subcontractors to ensure the work being executed is per their order, applying for payments and reconciling costs, pricing variations as well as carrying out regular visits to major project sites where required.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will be a customer-focused and commercially aware individual with a degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying. You will have previous experience quantity surveying, specialising in either Civil Engineering or Utilities. In addition, you will hold a CSCS card and have valid certifications in First Aid, Manual Handling as well as Health & Safety. Knowledge of the utility industry including water, electricity and gas is desirable as well as CDM regulations. Finally, you will have excellent people management skills, be contract aware and have a sound understanding of cost management and Health & Safety.
