Civil Technician

Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Technician after the injection of several projects across various sectors that include commercial units, sports facilities, and residential developments.

You will become an integral member of a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with over 40 years' experience based in Edinburgh.

This consultancy is well known for its staff retention and frequent internal promotion with the directors having a keen interest in providing all staff with the training and support to achieve chartership and other professional qualifications as well as offering a fast track to a director scheme.

You will work closely and learn from two more experienced Civil Technicians; however, you will be given the freedom to use your creative skills and flair.

Modern, hybrid working (from home) is an option however, the Senior Civil Technicians are keen to have fresh faces in the office as much as possible so that hands-on support can be provided when needed and synergy between all Civil Technicians and the wider design office can be achieved easier.

Responsibilities:

• Produce infrastructure designs and detailing of roads, drainage, and site levels
• Produce designs using AutoCAD, PDS modelling and similar design software
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure coordinated work

Requirements:

• Comfortable using AutoCAD and Civils 3D
• Happy to work with minimal supervision and manage your own workloads
• Possess a strong understanding of the relevant Codes of Practice and Design Standards
