Intermediate Structural Engineer

Our client is one of the Capitals’ largest independent consultancies dedicated to building structures design. They are an award winning practice that’s highly regarded for their technical expertise and the engineer of choice for many of the UK’s leading architects and developers.  They have an opportunity for a structural engineer who wants a more challenging workload, support to become chartered and a career path that provides continued progression.  

You will join a project team headed up by one of the companies associates. Your workload will predominantly consist of complex schemes in urban environments typically within the residential, commercial, arts, and education sectors. These are often high profile projects requiring regular collaboration with leading architects. The scope of work will encompass low carbon design, historic conservation and new, cutting edge developments. You will be involved at all stages of design providing input at concept stages through to detail design production, with regular site visits which are mainly in the London area.   Their new design studio provides the highest standard of working environment and the terms and conditions of employment are above average for the sector. Great emphasis is placed on continued professional development and you will be supported to achieve chartered status through the IStructE or ICE.

Your Background: Four or more years building structures experience that includes exposure to the commonly used materials. A technical focus with the ability to think laterally. Good interpersonal and team working skills.  You will need a 2:1 in civil or structural engineering and the ambition to develop your career and to practice structural engineering at the highest level.
