Supervisor Children's Support Worker

Hays Social Care are looking for a Supervisor to join a Children's organisation in Ballymena.


Your new company
Hays Social Care are working with a children service in Ballymena. This service supports children with additional needs to help them thrive in a warm, supportive, and structured environment. This post is a maternity cover post.
Your new role
As a supervisor you will lead a team of two staff and be responsible of delivering a range of programmes helping children and parents' access throughout their day. In line with the client's statement each child has the right to a 'safe and happy childhood' this standard is promoted when supporting children in your care. Some children have additional needs and so that will require you to lead with empathy and understanding and being responsible overseeing their care plans. You will facilitate activities by following appropriate plans and empowering staff to delver them on 1.1 and group sessions. You will work as a team, ensuring transparency in communication with parents to assess progress, access programmes and communicate any difficulties from their day. You will have the ability to promote an equal and inclusive agenda for each child in your care. You will demonstrate the ability to regularly reflect on the practice of the team to deliver an outcome based approach by planning delivering and reviewing your work. What you'll need to succeed
To exceed in this position you will desirably have experience working in an early year setting with children between birth to 4 years. You will Minimally have level 3 but level 5 is desirable in Social Care. You will have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written and be able to provide detailed reports and care plans. You will have experience working as a part of a team to deliver quality support. Ability to use IT systems and complete records to a high-quality standard.
