Hays Social Care are looking for a Social Worker to join a Children's service organisation in Downpatrick.

Your new company
Hays Social Care are working with a children service in Downpatrick. This service supports children with additional needs to help them thrive in supported environments.

Your new role
As a children's Social Worker you will provide a high level of professional childcare and social work practice using appropriate interventions that are outcome focused and evidence based that is delivered to the service specification. You will complete assessments making appropriate recommendations, which may require liaison or referral of complex cases to the Manager and ensure all case work and management information is recorded accurately and uploaded within the required timescales .You will deliver high level of professional social work services to children and families and keep up with changes in social work practice to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date with relevant legislation and thinking about best practice, using appropriate interventions that are outcome focused and evidence based. You will lead and deliver a range of activities, including training, participation events, recruitment, social activities and support groups. As a Social Worker you'll generally be working 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday although there may need to be some flexibility to meet the needs of the service. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your social work experience while making a real difference to young people.

What you'll need to succeed
-A degree in Social Work.
-Experience of direct work with children and young people aged up to 18.
-Experience of delivering parenting programmes.
-Experience of working with children with anxiety.
-Excellent communication skills.
-The ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to problem solve.
-Access to a car with business insurance. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
