Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
You will be joining a multi-disciplined and multi-accredited Civil Engineering subcontractor based in Nottingham. This company operates across a multitude of sectors include rail and water, and they work nationally with contracts scattered across the UK. They have a proven successful track record of delivering high quality projects across the country with their wide capabilities and are now looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work on a diverse range of exciting projects.

Your new role
You will be responsible for, but not limited to, monitoring subcontractor performance in consultation with more senior staff, ensuring prompt and regular submission of payment applications, participating in pricing variations and the settlement of main contract final accounts as well as assisting senior staff in monitoring final contract performance.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have a basic understanding of risks in construction processes and basic knowledge of different industry contracts. You will have some experience of working on live projects, processing subcontract payments and managing low-risk subcontract payments. In addition, you will have good leadership, communication and networking skills. Holding a CSCS card is desirable as well as working towards professional accreditation (e.g. ICES, CIOB, RICS).
