Teaching Assistant in Cardiff, Full Time

A medium-sized Primary School in Cardiff are searching for a Teaching Assistant to join their team and work in the Foundation Phase. This position will be on a full time basis, commencing immediately and running until the end of the academic year.

The school has over 300 pupils across the age range of 4 to 11 years old. It is a school with a friendly and positive atmosphere that has strong links to the local community and a supportive team of staff.



Your New Role



The role will be focused on delivering general teaching assistance, but you will also have other responsibilities. The role will involve, but is not limited to:

- Working with pupils in small groups.
- Helping individual pupils in the classroom to achieve their goals.
- Aiding the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
- Building rapport with fellow members of staff, pupils and parents.
- Assisting the class teacher with other duties where necessary.



What You'll Need to Succeed



The successful candidate will have a deep passion for working in education and a desire to help children in the Foundation Phase. You will also need:

- Recent and referenceable experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School (previous two years).
- To be registered with the EWC or be prepared to do so.
- To an enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake one.
- The ability to deal with challenging behaviour in the classroom.
- A resilient and open approach to working in education.
