The Office of Public Works (OPW) Fire and Security Unit operates as “In–House” Consultancy for both Fire and Security aspects of OPW’s Estate Portfolio Management.  The services provided by the Unit include advising on Fire Certificates and preparation of Fire Safety Strategies for buildings housing Government bodies, ongoing fire safety reviews of existing state property and evaluation of buildings where new leases are to be taken or renewed.

 

The Engineer Grade II, Fire & Security responsibilities include providing a Fire and Security design and supervision service in conjunction with multidisciplinary design teams and Fire Safety Assessments of Existing Building within the OPW Portfolio.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for Engineers to join an organisation dedicated to supporting staff to realise their full potential with access to professional development opportunities and career progression.

 

Successful candidates must have obtained the title of Chartered Engineer through Engineers Ireland, The Institute of Fire Engineers or other equivalent professional body and have at least five years’ relevant employment experience in fire engineering encompassing all aspects of Fire Safety Design, Risk Analysis including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling (Smoke Modelling, Evacuation Modelling).
