Associate Structural Engineer

Our client’s building structures division works on large projects in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, conservation and commercial sectors. This is an opportunity to join an established medium size firm with an emphasis on major schemes. They are looking for a senior building structures engineer who wants more autonomy and a focus on prestigious clients and notable projects.

Your Role: This is a client facing role with responsibility from client advisory and fee negotiation stages through to project completion. Your projects will typically be valued between £10m -£100m. With the support of the director for the London office you will develop conceptual designs and go on to allocate work to engineers internally, and sometimes external consultants. More broadly you will provide support and input on project selection, new business, mentoring staff and recruitment.

They are known for their high level of technical expertise and ability to successfully deliver complex projects. Their business growth is supported by well structured staff training and development including support to achieve chartered status with the ICE and IStructE.

Your Profile: A chartered or incorporated engineer with ten or more years building structures expertise. You should be working at project or senior engineer level, your background should encompass design and delivery. You will need experience of advising clients, concept design, fee negotiation and the management of engineers and delivery of completed design work.
