Senior Structural Engineer

An opportunity for a building structures engineer to gain invaluable rail experience. Our clients’ strong long term workload in buoyant markets is driving their steady growth, in addition to rail sector work they handle a range of building structures design commissions. The workload will be varied including stations, depots, industrial, healthcare and educational projects. 

Reporting to the director of civil and structural engineering you will play a key role in project delivery and the supervision of junior engineers and technicians. The position is client facing and you will be involved in specification, site supervision, quality control and developing designs from first principals. Your workload will encompass new build, maintenance, and improvement schemes covering reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures.

About You: You should be a degree qualified civil or structural engineer and be working towards chartership or have chartered status with the ICE or IStructE. A structural design background gained within a consulting or contracting environment. Previous rail experience is not essential, a broad knowledge base is required enabling you to tackle a range of technical challenges. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, there will be extensive interaction with clients and third parties. You should also have some working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
