This is an opportunity for a civil engineer with an infrastructure / highways background to work on international projects in an industry that the UK excels at. Our client provides sought after engineering expertise to the motorsport industry focused on race tracks, infrastructure, buildings and facilities. The firm is involved at all stages, from concept and planning, through to detail design management and handover. Civil Engineering & Motorsport: The UK’s Motorsport industry is one of the country’s major success stories and is worth an estimated £9 Billion annually to the UK’s economy. Not only is the UK the undisputed world leader in the development and construction of cutting edge racing machines, it excels at designing, innovating and building the complex infrastructure and facilities required to race, test and spectate. Civil engineering is at the heart of this. For any civil engineer with a passing interest in motorsport the scale and complexity of these facilities will be clear to see.  Working in this export driven industry will enable you to play a key role in developing iconic and innovative facilities in the UK  USA, Middle East, China, Australia, Mainland Europe, South East Asia and beyond, and you will have the opportunity to visit many of them.

The Role: With the support of your line manager, the civil engineer director, you will work on a range of national and international projects from concept stages through to detail design management and completion.  There will be regular contact with client representatives, and you will work alongside the in-house architects and CAD technicians. Your duties will include; the production of specification and designs for road/ track layouts, drainage and pavements, creating 3D civil engineering models, conceptual design input, liaising with the visualisation team to develop simulator models, attending regular site visits entailing occasional international travel.

Your Profile: A degree or HND qualified civil engineer with a consulting engineering background focused on roads, highways, developer led infrastructure or similar. You should have an interest in exploiting engineering software to its full potential and have had some exposure to 3D design and AutoCAD or MicroStation. Good interpersonal skills are essential, this is a collaborative role working as part of a team bringing you in contact with clients, sub-consultants and suppliers. A willingness to learn and develop is essential, you will be expected to progress as the business continues to grow.
