- To act as the Civil/Structural Engineering Intelligent Customer for all matters relating to nuclear and conventional facilities, structures and associated Infrastructure within the Submarines business.
- To provide design, modification and build assurance of the Civil/Structural Infrastructure to the Submarines Business and appropriate Rolls-Royce Design Authorities.

- Ability to appraise calculations, drawings and proposals from concept to construction relative to the latest Euro Codes, British Standards, Codes of Practice, Guidance Documents.
- Strong meeting and communication skills to ensure the technical requirements are met whilst ensuring appropriate solutions are derived and difficulties overcome through the design and construction process.
