Structural Auto CAD Technician

A structural Auto CAD technician is required by  a successful consultancy with a secured  long term workload. The Company: An employee owned consultancy established for over twenty years. Structural engineering is their lead discipline, supported by a small civil engineering team. They work closely with blue chip companies in sectors that will continue to expand into the future, namely, data centres, automated distribution and warehousing. Their success is founded on  providing a high level of technical expertise with a strong focus on client care.

Duties: You will prepare 2D and 3D layouts and assembly drawings of portal frame structures and automated racking systems for warehouses using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Inventor.  Reporting to the principal engineer  you will be an integral member of a team of twelve engineers and technicians. There will be occasional site survey visits, and you will also be involved in drawing management.     

Experience Required: A minimum of three years AutoCAD experience, qualified to HND level or above, knowledge of structural steel or architectural metalwork, exposure to Auto CAD Inventor, a valid UK driving licence. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with client representatives.
