Civil & Structural Project Engineer

The civil and structural division of this leading property consultancy has an opportunity for an engineer looking for more management responsibility. Working alongside the design team you will be managing projects that typically radiate thirty miles from Swindon, a company car will be provided. The position would suit a consulting civil or structural engineer with a design background looking for more client interaction and project delivery exposure.    

Your Role: Supported by the principal civil and structural engineer, will involve close working relationships with clients and external consultants. Your involvement will take in the whole project lifecycle and require regular site visits to track progress. Much of your week can be spent working from home and business travel will take place during office hours. There is a limited design requirement, with the bulk of design being carried out by colleagues and external civil and structural consultants.

Workload: Their workload covers commercial, industrial, energy, educational and residential building projects. The civil and structural team produces its own detail designs, they also use specialist external civil consultants.

About You: A degree qualified engineer with upwards of five years civil or structural design experience. This could have been gained working in infrastructure, buildings, energy or heavy civil engineering. Knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, steel and foundations would be beneficial. Good interpersonal skills will be essential, you will build mutually beneficial relationships with your own colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
