About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer with 10+ years of industry experience to join a dynamic team with a great reputation. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer to take a leading role in commercial project delivery, working across a range of high-profile projects such as schools, student accommodation, offices, and more. The successful candidate will be involved in projects from conception through to construction, liaising directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

This role requires a highly skilled and motivated engineer with a strong track record in commercial projects. Chartered status with IStructE or an equivalent body is ideal. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing key relationships and driving projects to completion with excellent technical oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of a variety of commercial projects, including schools, student accommodation, offices, and other developments.
  • Manage and liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee projects from concept through to construction, ensuring all stages run smoothly and on time.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality to meet client expectations.
  • Attend meetings and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial projects such as schools, student accommodation, and offices.
  • Chartered status with IStructE or an equivalent professional body (or working towards).
  • Excellent communication skills, with a hands-on approach to client and contractor liaison.
  • Proven experience in delivering projects from conception to construction phase.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in structural engineering.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.

What We Offer:

  • £55,000 - £63,000 per annum.
  • 8% pension contribution, 25 days annual leave, and office parking.
  • Hybrid working options to support work-life balance.
  • Clear career pathways with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment with passionate senior staff members who have been with the company for several years.
